U.N. ADMINISTRATIVE AND BUDGETARY ISSUES
Administrative and budgetary issues are cross-cutting to the whole United Nations’ activities spectrum. This section focuses on data relating to the Regular Budget of the Organization, the financing of Peace-Keeping Operations and the budgets of the International Tribunals and the Capital Master Plan (renovation of the United Nations Headquarters Complex). In the current biennium (2010-2011), Italy confirms its role as sixth major financial contributor to the U.N. budget.
It must be noted that the regular budget period differentiates from that of the peace-keeping budget. While the former lasts from 1st January to 31st December (with a biennial budget cycle), the latter covers the period from 1st July to 30th June (with an annual budget cycle).
